A network of cultural and landscape assets united by a strong bond with the territory. The main objective is to promote a system of cultural heritage and local economy: a network of landscapes, gardens and cultivated fields characterized by the cultivation of aromatic herbs, medicinal plants and vegetable-fruit crops of ancient tradition, representative of the cultural identity of the place.
Essenza del Territorio is coordinated by Terre dei Savoia: it is an inclusive project, in continuous evolution with a double function: the recovery and transformation of some landscape assets into poles of cultural and tourist attraction, and the implementation of showcases for the promotion of local products and businesses.
The itinerary starts from the Roman Garden of Bene Vagienna, continues with Cherasco with the Antico Orto dei Padri Somaschi and the Giardino dei Semplici. Then the Giardino delle Essenze dei Castelli Tapparelli d’Azeglio di Lagnasco, and Racconigi with the Silk Museum and the park of the Royal Castle; finally Savigliano with the Giardino dei Sensi at MÚSES of Palazzo Taffini.
Located at the Castle of Racconigi, Le Terre dei Savoia is an association that brings together more than 50 Piedmontese municipalities. It aims at giving value to the identity of the territory, its cultural and natural heritage and tradition of excellence.
CXI is a non-profit cultural association; its mission is to contribute scientifically and boost the recovery and protection of the architectural, artistic and landscape heritage.
