The project

Biodiv’ALP – PITEM ALCOTRA – Single project no. 3971 PROBIODIV “Promoting biodiversity and habitats as a factor of sustainable development of the territories: implementation of a governance for the enhancement and active and participatory protection of transalpine biodiversity.”

Biodiv’ALP is an integrated plan in favor of Biodiversity in the Alps, funded by the Interreg ALCOTRA V-A France-Italy 2014-2020 program, Axis 3 ATTRACTIVENESS OF THE TERRITORY. It brings together the five regions of the ALCOTRA program and 22 Franco-Italian beneficiaries for a period of four years.

Probiodiv is developed within the framework of the integrated Biodiv ALP plan and aims to promote biodiversity and habitats as factors for the development of the territories and to implement governance for the enhancement and active and participatory protection of the Alps. The lead partner is the Liguria Region. The project started in early 2019 and will end in 2022.

Activities

The project was born to protect and improve biodiversity and alpine ecosystems through a partnership and a network of cross-border ecological connectivity. Terre dei Savoia has the role of actuator for the Gran Paradiso National Park and will deal with:

  • WP 3.2 Training actions to qualify the actors of the transalpine territory – to promote knowledge of the local stakeholders on the conservation and management of transalpine biodiversity and to allow all the actors to speak the “same language”;

  • WP 4.4. Territorial marketing and networking companies and biodiversity managers for the enhancement of the territory.

The contexts and specific objectives on which Terre dei Savoia works are:

Context 1. Deepening of knowledge of the Gran Paradiso National Park area understood not only as a geographical area but also as a system of business contexts linked to the supply chain of aromatic and / or medicinal herbs and edible flowers.

Objective: mapping and creation of a database of the entrepreneurial realities of the sector on the territory of the Park and on the territory outside the park in the case of highly specialized operators located elsewhere.

Context 2. Survey of the needs, interests, needs and priorities of the operators in the supply chain.

Objective: analysis of the materials obtained from the survey to precisely address and focus the actions of the project.

Context 3. Analysis and comparison at national and international level of the realities inherent to similar entities.

Objective: investigation of products created by similar realities and analysis of the results in order to obtain excellent results.

Context 4. Dissemination and documentation of the design process.

Objective: updating and communication of project developments and final results.

Context 5. Scientific support and synergy with study and research institutes.

Objective: sharing the knowledge and study phase with qualified actors in the technical / scientific field to ensure the reliability of the choices that will be made following the cognitive phase.
