The project
The “Crossing Europe: designing our Europe” Project was sponsored by the City of Racconigi and 11 other municipalities in the Cuneo area. Involved young administrators under the age of 35 or newly appointed and/or young citizens in Europlanning workshops related to a number of European programs of interest and usefulness to municipalities and local communities.
The project was created in line with the Piedmont Region’s recommendations of Law 6/2019, aimed at supporting the participation of young generations in municipal and regional life, as well as in the social and political life of the territories.
The main purpose is to bridge the gap between politics and institutions, favoring small municipalities that alone struggle to participate in European Commission projects. In addition, the project focused particularly on enhancing the skills of pupils, the initiatives of the younger generation and promoting their civic and political engagement to foster a sense of belonging to the European community.
