THE PROJECT.

AGRISMART aims to propose innovative technological solutions to farms in the ALCOTRA cross-border area involved in horticultural, fruit, olive, ornamental, and medicinal activities that present common problems on an area with overall climatic and orographic uniqueness.

The 5 Italian and 3 French partners, strengthened by their specific and technical expertise, are presenting a project aimed at testing, applying and disseminating technological innovations on the use of water, soil, advanced cropping systems, crop protection, recycling or reuse of waste biomass, automated production control with sensor technology and data processing.
Innovation in agricultural production will be supported by proposing to MPMIs in the Italian-French cross-border territory application methods and tools in training moments and the development of pilot actions.

The core of the project is transferable innovation: knowing the weaknesses of agricultural production in disadvantaged areas , all technological innovations that can improve farm efficiency and sustainability will be evaluated and demonstrated by testing them on farms and pilot sites. At the conclusion of the project, post application economic evaluations of the identified innovations will be conducted and promotion strategies for agricultural MPMIs adopting innovative techniques in their production process will be proposed.

The innovative aspect of
AGRISMART makes it possible to test the potential and efficiency of such innovations from the perspective of environmental, economic and social sustainability with a focus on young people, and to actively transfer them to companies with a long-term perspective.

Crucial will be the cross-border approach that will bring together problems and solutions for agricultural enterprises. Successful completion of the project will improve the entrepreneurship of businesses operating between Italy and France.

The project is funded by the INTERREG VI-A ITALY-FRANCE ALCOTRA Program 2021-2027.
